Pretty Rocking (my secret identity)

About 5 years ago (when I was in my final year at Uni) I used to make the odd bit of jewellery and try and flog it on eBay and various other sites. It was pretty basic, mostly bracelets/anklets and chokers. After that I mostly just did it for fun or as gifts for people. However, back in October this year I decided that I wanted to start it up again a bit more seriously (and just in time for Christmas orders of course)!
I had a week booked off work at the beginning of November so I started to try out some new styles and expand on my existing collection a bit. I started a separate Instagram page for it too so that I didn't spam people on my personal account. If you'd like to follow/take a look it's @pretty.rocking

After practicing and building up my stock I sold a few Christmas items to some colleagues at work who advised me to take it to Christmas fairs and craft fairs. And that's what I did. Actually, selling at fairs was a really good opportunity to photograph the items individually because I usually make them at night and the lighting isn't great then. It was also good to get an idea of what people liked the most.

Somewhere during this time I also reinstated my Etsy shop which I had ready to go but had never fully launched before. This week has been my best week ever for sales which is why I'm writing this post I guess. If you want to take a look at my shop you can here and there is still time to get orders in before Christmas! I can also do custom orders so just ask if you have any ideas.

What kind of post would this be without pictures????

And everything else:

I'm so glad I've started making the most out of my hobby, I didn't really know if it would work but it has and I'm so happy. If you're thinking about it, I would advise anyone to start an Etsy shop/website/ social media page if you have a craft or hobby that you want to start selling. It is quite a lot of effort at first but so is everything and it has paid off!!
